My first attempt at a proper full sized fighter sprite.  I had been trying to learn how to use color outlines instead of the black I'd used before.  The stance, I think, was based on a screenshot of Demetri from Darkstalkers that I had seen in a copy of the UK games magazine C&VG.  Looking back on this sprite the colors are terrible especially in the hair, but that's what practicing is about...

One of my very first larger animations done after playing Secret of Mana on Super NES obsessively I wanted to try to animate a high resolution RPG character.

I drew this character after my friend suggested he wanted to make a RPG in Allegro or something.  The big hair style was inspired by screenshots I had seen of Secret of Mana.  This was the first sprite where I got to use something better than the Amiga 500 palette and I overdid it.  Trying to animate it with the few skills I had back then was a nightmare.  Also looking back I can't help but notice how bright and colorful his clothes are for a vagabond.

I drew this as my avatar on an old chat website called Globechat while I was studying Information Technology at Cambridge Regional College.  The color scheme was obviously inspired by Jon Talbain from Capcom's Darkstalkers series
